Payroll direct deposit / QBO payroll

Hello.  I'm a QBPro Advisor with many years experiences in Desktop, Desktop Payroll and several years in QBOnline (but not QBO Payroll).  My question is 2-part:

1)  It appears that if a client wants direct deposit they must have their OWN payroll subscription? (I've been doing paper-check payrolls through my Accountants Enhanced Payroll.)

2) Any resources you can point me to to become familiar -quicker - with QBO Payroll?

Thank you, in advance,

MtnGrl

You're right, @MtnGrl.

You'll want to subscribe to our payroll service before you can set up Direct Deposit (DD) for your employees. It requires a US bank account that is set up for ACH transactions.

To learn more about how DD works in QuickBooks Online (QBO), I've added these great articles for reference:

You can also try our payroll service for free in 30 days. That way, you get to experience how it works before you subscribe to our service.

Also, visit our Employees and payroll taxes page for additional reference in getting started in QBO payroll.

I'll be around if you have other queries with your QBO account. You're always welcome to post here in the Community. Have a great day!

Thank you, but I AM already subscribed to the payroll service (for accountants).

I was asking if my CLIENT also needs to be subscribed in order for me to use direct deposit on THEIR payroll (that I prepare)?

Thank you for the article links.

Thanks for the response, @MtnGrl.

Your client is going to need their own payroll subscription for their company. You can follow the links provided by my colleague @Lord Jasro Vales to get your client's payroll setup.
