Hello,

Are employers liabilities, FICA, and payroll tax the same when preparing a payroll journal entry?

Thanks

Payroll journal entry

Thanks for posting here in the Community, @Frieaza.

First off, may I know if you want to enter these taxes as a single line item?

In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), the taxes aren't entirely the same, and it's better if you'll enter them per line item instead of a single one for tax audit and tracking purposes.

Furthermore, you can utilize this article if you need to enter your historical tax payments in QBDT: Enter historical tax payments in Desktop payroll.

On top of that, I'd still recommend seeking assistance from your accountant for additional help to ensure that your books are accurate and to avoid messing up the data.

You may also want to check our QuickBooks Help site to find articles and guides that can help you perform your QBDT tasks.

You can always get back to me whenever you have other concerns about generating payroll journal entries in QBDT. I'm just a post away. Take care and keep safe!
