We sold our business and our payroll subscription renews Dec 25th, if I cancel before then we will be able to run year end reports and W-2's for payroll?

@JPCRochester  Intuit has a habit the past few years of waiting until mid-January to release the update containing the year-end reports.

While you'll still be able to use your company file to manually prepare and send out the year end reports, I don't believe that you'll be able to e-file after cancelling the subscription. Hope you don't have more than 10 employees.

Thanks for posting in the Community, @JPCRochester.

It sounds like you're trying to wrap things up after selling your business, and that's definitely a busy time! To make sure you can get your year-end reports and W-2s taken care of, you'll want to run those before your subscription ends on December 25th. Once your subscription cancels, you won't be able to access those features.

To help you with the cancellation process and make sure you have everything you need, here's a link to our help article: Cancel Your QuickBooks Payroll Subscription.

You'll also find a handy year-end checklist here: Year-end checklist for QuickBooks Desktop Payroll. This checklist will guide you through the important steps for preparing your tax forms.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

@Eman_E  Can we take this as an official statement that Intuit will release the update containing the 2024 year end reports before December 25th or, failing that, before the cancellation would be expected to take effect?

@JPCRochester

You don't need to renew your Enhanced Payroll Subscription. Make sure to cancel it on your CAMPS before renewal date. Then you can use the trial version of Enterprise Gold as a workaround to run your yer end reports and W-2. You should explore this option before next week to make sure it works.
