payroll

In the next payroll run I have a salary employee that will have a reduction in salary and hours till all the way to the end of the year (12/31/2020). My question: How do I set-up the salary change for the next payroll period and that it will follow through to 12/31/2020.

Hey again KCJoy.

If those are their hours, correct. It depends entirely on what the schedule is. You can also change the employee to part-time if they're working less than 40 hours per week. I highly recommend reaching out to our support team for further assistance as they will be able to guide you in a q 1-on-1 setting and screen share. To reach them, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to Help (?).
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us:
    • Start a chat with a support expert.
    • Get a callback from the next available expert.

If there's anything else I can help with, feel free to post here anytime. Thank you and have a nice evening.

Hi KCJoy.

Thanks for dropping by the Community, I'm happy to help. What you're going to want to do is edit the employees salary in the employee profile. To do so, follow along below:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu and then select Employees.
  2. In the Employees list, select the name of the employee whom you want to modify.
  3. Go to Pay section.
  4. In the How much do you pay Employee? section, enter the amount per pay period.
  5. Verify the details and click Save.

You can also add additional pay types for your employees such as overtime, sick, and vacation pay. Feel free to check this article for further details: Add or Change the Type of Pay (Wages).

I'm adding this article for more information about managing your employees' payroll: Override an employee's salary in Online Payroll.

If you have any other questions, feel free to post here anytime. Thank you and have a lovely Thursday.

Currently the salary $$ is set for yearly. I changed the salary $$  to per week  and my next question. I would also have to change the hours?  from 8 x 5 days to the new hours would be 6 x 5 days Then I would be good to go for the next payroll run?

I need to update CC info.  I'm not able to do it on my quickbooks.  The email associated with updating the CC doesn't exist any longer.

I'll walk you through the steps on how you can access your paychecks online, @Metime77.

You can ask your employer to send an invite to QuickBooks Workforce. Have them follow the steps below:

  1. Highlight the Payroll tab, then select Employees.
  2. Click Invite to Workforce
  3. Place a check on the box of employees you want to invite, along with their email addresses.
  4. Hit Send invitations when done.

As for the actual status of your paycheck, I suggest contacting your employee for further information. They can also contact our Payroll Support team if they need assistance.

Tag me in a comment below if you have additional questions about your paycheck in QuickBooks Online. I'll be sure to get back to you. Have a great day!
