Is there a way to change and save printer settings for individual computers.  Our computers use different printers so the checks don't line up using a different printers.  I know it's online and settings stay the same whatever computer you use but I'm hoping I can save settings for individual printers.

I'm here to provide details regarding this functionality, Rhonda64.

I recognize how helpful it is to change and save printer settings for individual computers. However, the option to do this in QuickBooks Online is currently unavailable. It would be best if you could send a feature request directly to our Product Developers. They're genuinely interested in hearing your comments and highly encourage you to share your suggestions and feature requests by providing feedback. Here's how:

  1. Open your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.
  3. Type in your suggestions and then click on Next.

You'll want to visit this article to learn more about setting up your print settings: Configure your print settings for printing checks in QuickBooks Online.

Your feedback is highly appreciated as it allows us to improve the program. Reach out to me again by commenting below if you have other QuickBooks concerns. I'm always here ready to assist you.

@Rhonda64  RE: Our computers use different printers so the checks don't line up using a different printers.

What I think @SirielJeaB is trying to say, without actually saying it, is that the settings aren't user-specific, computer-specific, or printer-specific, any and all of which would make a lot of sense. QB Online has implemented a feature that makes no sense.

Weird that QB Online doesn't save the settings per computer or per user. QuickBooks Desktop has been doing so for over 20 years.

Printer settings should of course be tied to the user, since typically printers are tied to the user.

It makes no sense for a multi-user program to only save one set of printer settings for all the users, who may be in different locations printing on different printers, and for checks - even using different check stock.  QuickBooks desktop had that figured out sometime in the last century.
