Printing Paycheck

I created two employee's paychecks and it was set to manually write paycheck instead of print paycheck.  Now it is telling me the check is done but I need it printed.  Is there a way to make it print?

Printing Paycheck

Yes, you can always print your employees' paycheck using QuickBooks, Missy.

Let me share some information on how to use this feature effectively.

Initially, you have to set up your printer and choose what type of check paper and add-ons you want on your paychecks.

Here's some guidance on how to do this:

  1. Go to File, then select Printer Setup.
  2. In the Form Name drop-down, select Check/Paycheck.
  3. Select the Settings, then look for your Printer Name and Printer Type.
  4. Pick your Check Style of Voucher, Standard, or Wallet.
  5. Select the additional options to print your company name and address, logo, or image.
  6. Click OK.

Once done, here's how you can print your employee's paychecks:

  1. Go to File, then select Print Forms.
  2. Select Paychecks and your payroll Bank Account ▼.
  3. Verify that the number in the First Check Number field matches the number of the first check in your printer.
  4. Select Paycheck or Direct Deposit.
    • If you choose Direct Deposit, QuickBooks will print advice of deposit forms for direct deposit paychecks.  These forms are non-negotiable checks and print on the same check stock you use for printing regular paychecks. You can give these to your employees as pay stubs. Check this out if you want to order Advice of Deposit Forms.
  5. Select OK.
  6. Finalize your print settings, then select Print.

It's amazing to know that you're using QuickBooks as part of your daily business transactions, Missy. You can always revisit this thread if you've further questions on printing paychecks or any other inquiries in QBDT. We're here to assist you along the way.

Printing Paycheck

Thank you.  I have already set my printer up to print checks and have successfully done that.  My question was I had accidently had two payroll checks set to manually write instead of print.  It was telling me the check was created and nothing to print.  My question was how could I print a check that QuickBooks thought was manually written?  I did however find the answer by watching you tube.  I selected edit/void check and when the check popped up I simply clicked on print later, saved and closed.  Then I went to print forms, print payroll check and now that check was in the que to print.
