QBO Payroll export function

Has anyone else had trouble getting QBO Payroll to Export California State Tax payments?  In my case, this used to work and the state tax as well as the federal was Exported without hitch.  However, in the past two months this has failed with varrying symptoms.  The tax payments were made on time, but the Export function in March failed to show the transition in the Export list, while in April it showed on the list but was missing from the IIF file.

QBO Payroll export function

Hello there, Eric. The option to export your tax payment depends on the date you made the payment. I'm here to provide an example.

For example, if you made a tax payment on the 12th, you will be able to export those details on that day or afterward.

Since this issue has persisted for the past two months, I strongly advise contacting our support team for further assistance. They have the tools to access your account, identify the problem, and provide a suitable solution.

Here’s how you can connect with a live representative:

  1. Go to Help and choose the Search tab.
  2. In the search field, type in contact support.
  3. Click the Contact Us button.
  4. Please choose between the methods to connect with our support.
  5. Follow the on-screen steps based on your choice.

Additionally, you can also run payroll reports to view useful info about your business and employees.

Please return to this thread if you have other questions or concerns about exporting your payroll tax payment in QuickBooks, Eric. We're here to help you in any way we can.

QBO Payroll export function

Your description of the date dependency of the Export function isn't how it works for me for all transactions other than the California State tax transactions.  When I have issued various transactions, say the month's payroll and tax deposits related to that payroll, those transactions have always appeared in the Export list provide that the target date range covers the period in question, including in the future.  My particular problem is that while this used to work for everything, it has stopped working for me in last two months only for Calif State Tax payments.

Your suggestion to contact the support team is excellent.  I did that last month and spent a significant amount of time with a friendly and knowledgeable person who walked me through the entire process including screen sharing.  At the end she gave it as her opinion that I had found an apparent bug and she referred it "to the technical people". Their response came back after a couple of days saying "the system is working as intended" which made no sense to me.  I filed a feedback response but that was the end of that interaction.
