QuickBooks Enterprise Payroll

QuickBooks Desktop Premier Contractors Version (all versions actually) limits the number of Payroll Items on the Employee Master Payroll Record to 25 Payroll items.  QuickBooks Enterprise used to have the same limit several years ago.  Has that changed?

What is the limit of Payroll Items that one can enter on the Employee Payroll Master Record in QuickBooks Enterprise Payroll?

I’ve bumped into this a few times myself, especially when dealing with more complex payroll setups. Last time I checked, the limit was 100 payroll items per employee record in Enterprise. That’s definitely more breathing room compared to the 25-item cap in Premier.

It’s worth keeping in mind that while 100 is usually enough for most businesses, if you’ve got a situation where you’re regularly coming close to that, it can get tricky to manage. I usually recommend cleaning up old or unused payroll items every so often to keep things tidy.

You can maximize a 100-item limit to be added to an employee’s payroll profile, jrsytsma.

Yes, you’re right. QuickBooks Desktop Premier versions allow you to create and enter up to 25 payroll items on the Employee Payroll Master Record.

Thus, with QuickBooks Enterprise, the items available to be added to their  profiles are limited to 100. That said, you can take into account the information shared above by PollNofer when handling these.
