Quickbooks Online "approve time" is different and doesn't work right. Anyone else having issues with it? You can't select the pay period, and the pay types don't show

There is no longer an option to select a pay period. I can't view anything other than the current week. And the pay types are all messed up. It'll show a total of 42 for one guy but when you open it's really 40 because there are unpaid breaks. Or it'll show 40, but when you look close one of those is a vacation day, but you would never know without looking at each line. It used to say "32 reg, 8 VAC" right at the top. Why did they change this???

I have some information about approving time. While we don't have a reported case about users unable to select a pay period, you'll want to start your troubleshooting steps by accessing your account using a private browser or incognito window. This browsing doesn’t store data and will help the page load without issues from temporary data.

 

Here's how:

 

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Option + P

 

After that, go back to approving the time again. If you’re able to select a pay period, it’s a good idea to clear the cache to start on a clean slate. This process helps the browser to fetch the latest version of the webpage and a faster browsing experience.

 

However, if you're still experiencing the same result, please contact our Payroll Support. This way, we can create a case for you and investigate further. Here's how to reach out:

 

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter a brief description of the issue, then tap Continue.
  4. Click either Chat or Callback.

I tried all these steps and it still won't work. This is a screen shot of the pay period section, where you can see there is no way to change the dates to a different week-

Thanks for reaching out for help with approving time. I took a look at the screenshot you provided. Can you tell me what your process or steps are to approve time? As in where you are in QBO? Knowing your steps will help me determine our next move.

From Quickbooks online, I click "+New", and then under Employees I click "Approve Time". It always worked in the past, but two months ago it changed and now it looks different and doesn't work. We don't process payroll through Quickbooks. We only track time through it with Quickbooks Time (tsheets). I need to approve it in Quickbooks so the managers can see it (they don't have a tsheets login since you have to pay by user).

Since you’ve already tried clearing your browser’s cache and are still unable to approve time, I suggest reaching out to our Customer Support team. They can get into your account in a secure environment, isolate the issue you’re having and help you resolve it.

 

You can reach our Customer Support for QuickBooks Online (QBO) by going to the Help icon at the top right of the account. Follow the steps below: 

 

  1. Go to the Help icon to connect to a live support agent. 
  2. Provide us with some information about your concern.
  3. Select the Contact Us button and provide some details about this concern, then on the Let's talk button. 
  4. You'll now be provided options on how to connect to our Customer Support.
