It's my pleasure to provide some information enter the prior year's pay, @wmbookkeeping.
You must include your employees' pay in the setup if you're new to QuickBooks Online Payroll and you've already paid them for the year. Their W-2s and other payroll tax forms reflect their wage history.
Additionally, you must enter your employer's payroll taxes and compensation for each payday during the current quarter. This information ensures that you have not missed any previous paychecks.

You can enter historical payroll information for the current calendar year. However, entering prior payroll data can only be done if no paycheck has been run yet.
