Quickbooks taxes are always wrong. Should be 8.25 and not 6.25.

Auto taxes are always wrong. I don't think they are calculating the county sales tax in Texas. How can we have this fixed?

the Point here is that the automated taxes are wrong for my city\county. There should be a way to report this to have Intuit go in and finally fix it to the right tax rate.

I appreciate you for getting back to the thread and providing an update to your concern, @andrew-thelinkso. Let me provide information to help you resolve your tax rate discrepancy.

To start with, QuickBooks calculates the total sales tax rate for each sale based on your customer's sales tax-exempt status, the locations where you sell and ship, and the sales tax category of your service or product. For further details, please refer to this article: Learn how QuickBooks Online calculates sales tax.

Moreover, you can accurately adjust your tax rate by creating Custom Rates. Instead of selecting the automatic tax rate calculation when generating invoices or sales receipts, choose the custom rate you've created to ensure the correct rate is applied. Here's how to create a custom rate:

  1. Go to the left navigation panel and select Taxes.
  2. In the Sales Tax menu, select the Sales Tax Settings.
  3. Choose the Add Rate option and enter the Name of the sales tax.
  4. Select Texas of the Agency and enter the correct Rate.
  5. Once done, click Save.

For reference, you can check this article: Edit Sales Tax Rate.

I'll also add this article to help you record, adjust, and delete sales tax payments in the tax center: Manage sales tax payments.

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any further questions about tax rate. I'm always here to help, @andrew-thelinkso. Take care.
