Thanks for reaching out to the Community about your concern, ggc2.
I recognize the importance of sending the refund to the new address. Let me share some insights about amending tax forms.
When correcting a tax form, you’ll have to manually processed it and send it to the IRS. This is because the QBO Payroll doesn't support amended or corrected forms. Let me share this guide to download a copy of the 941-X form: About Form 941-X, Adjusted Employer's Quarterly Federal Tax Return or Claim for Refund.
Once you have it hand, go to the Archive section in QBO to get the data for your previous 941 forms. Here’s how:
- Tap Taxes on the left menu to select Payroll Tax.
- On the Payroll Tax Center page, click the View and Print Archived forms link under Quarterly Forms.
- Pick Quarterly Tax Form from the drop-down.
- Click the 941 link to view more details.
- Hit the View button to print the tax return.
- Press the Printer icon to get a copy.
In regard to the address, use the one that’s registered on the IRS website. If you’re unable to update the information, I suggest contacting the agency for further assistance. Then, submit the corrected form.
For the refund, make sure it’s also recorded in your company. This is to keep your payroll records in order. Check out this article for the complete instructions: Resolving a tax overpayment.
For additional resources, this guide contains information on how Intuit Online Payroll Enhanced and QuickBooks Online Payroll Enhanced handles the processing of tax returns: File quarterly tax forms.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. I’ll be glad to lend a helping hand. Take care and have a great day.
