How do I update unemployment rate after I ran the first payroll?

Hey there, sokols167.

 

Thanks for dropping by the Community this morning, I'm happy to help you out. Follow the steps below to update your unemployment tax rate. 

  1. Go to the Gear icon, select Payroll Settings under Your Company.

  2. Select your state tax.

  3. On the State Unemployment setup, select Change or add new rate.

  4. Enter your new unemployment rate and effective date, and then click OK.

In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about how you can change your unemployment rate: Enter or Change State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) Tax Rates. I'm also including this helpful article about how to resolve a tax underpayment, incase you need to make an additional payment for the first payroll ran under the old rate.
