Thank you for reaching out to us, @copeland12.

I'm here to help correct your direct deposit account information and add insights into handling the paycheck that was incorrectly deposited into your savings account.

Moving forward, you can update your direct deposit account information in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll for the next paycheck. Here are the steps to achieve this:

  1. Go to Payroll, then Employees.
  2. Select your profile.
  3. From the Payment method, select Edit.
  4. From the Payment method dropdown, select Direct deposit.
  5. Enter the correct banking information for your checking account.

Regarding the paycheck that was incorrectly deposited into your savings account, you can still delete and recreate the paycheck if it is still unprocessed. However, we can't correct the direct deposit once it has been processed.

After this, let me add this article that explains how your employees can update their personal information in QuickBooks Workforce after you've sent them an invitation: Add or change your personal info in QuickBooks Workforce.

Let us know if you need further assistance updating your direct deposit information in QuickBooks Online Payroll. We're here in the Community 24/7. Take care.

It's good to have you back, copeland12.

I'll provide more details on handling a paycheck deposited to the wrong account and resolving the issue.

If you're referring to the bank account used for payroll service, you can update it by heading to the Payroll settings and selecting the correct Checking account. I'll guide you through the process.

  1. Go to Settings ⚙, then select Payroll Settings.
  2. Under Bank Accounts, choose Edit ✎.
  3. Select Update, then Add new bank account.
  4. Look for your bank name. You may need to enter your online banking user ID and password. Otherwise, select Enter bank info manually. Enter your routing and account number, then save.
  5. Finally, select Accept and Submit.

If the bank account type is incorrect, you can edit your bank information from your Chart of Accounts.

  1. Go to Settings and select Chart of accounts.
  2. Choose the bank and click the dropdown arrow beside View register.
  3. Select Edit.
  4. In the Tax form section, select the appropriate account.
  5. Tap Save.

However, if you're referring to the bank account where the payroll is posted, you can update it from the accounting preferences. Afterward, you'll need to create a Journal entry or bank transfer to post it to the correct account.

  1. Go back to Settings, then Payroll settings.
  2. Scroll down to the Accounting section.
  3. Click the Edit pencil icon.
  4. From the Paycheck and payroll tax payments, click the pencil icon.
  5. Select the Checking account for your payroll.
  6. Tap Save.
