I appreciate your efforts in attempting to rectify the issue of the incorrect SSN for some of your employees, KatieJo2017. Updating QuickBooks, using the File Doctor, and restarting your computer are initial steps to fix this behavior.
If you haven't tried rebuilding your QuickBooks, I recommend doing it to further isolate the incorrect SSN. To do so, File>Utilities>Rebuild Data.

Once done, check for additional damage. Still, go to the File menu> Utilities>Verify Data.
If the same thing happens, even though you mentioned that nothing has changed, it's always a good idea to double-check the SSN to ensure there wasn't any accidental mistyping that can lead to authentication issues. You can verify your employee's SSN by going to the Social Security Number Verification Service.
If it persists, I'd suggest contacting our Support Team. We'll need to examine why it's happening on your end. This way, we'll know the best approach on how we can fix it. To contact us, go to the Help menu and select QuickBooks Desktop Help F1.
