We recognize the need to withhold the appropriate amount when paying your employees, jhhhi. I have the steps to help resolve your Federal Withholding concern in QuickBooks Online Payroll. Allow me to guide you through the process.

QuickBooks calculates Federal Withholding taxes based on the information entered within your company file, such as Employees' W-4Pay frequency, Gross wages, and Percentage or wage bracket method.

Therefore, let's ensure employees are set up accordingly to let QuickBooks withhold the correct amount when processing paychecks. You can proceed to these steps for guidance:

  1. Head to Payroll, then Employees.
  2. Locate and click the employee from the list.
  3. Select Edit from the Tax withholding section.
  4. You can review all the details in the Federal Withholding section and update if necessary.
  5. Click Save once done.

On the other hand, you might want to scan these resources whenever you're ready to pay your taxes with QuickBooks, depending on your subscription: Set up QuickBooks Online Payroll to pay and file your payroll taxes and forms.
