SOC code for is required by NCSUITS (North Carolina unemployment) Where do I input the code in payroll system?

I'll guide you on how you can enter the occupational code, Joel.

Some states may require state occupational code (SOC) when filing quarterly or annual wage forms. For now, QuickBooks Online (QBO) only supports the South Carolina State. You'll want to reach out to your state agency instead and ask them about them,

In the meantime, here are the steps on how to input the codes:

  1. Go to the  Payroll menu, then Employees.
  2. Choose your employee.
  3. From Employment details, select Start or Edit.
  4. Enter the occupational code. then click Save.

You can repeat this to your other employees. Also, please know the occupational codes will be printed out on wage reports. Consider reading this article for more information: Set Up Occupation Codes for Employees.

Additionally, learn how you can generate reports so you'll find information about your employees' wages, taxes, and deductions. I've added this article for more information: Run Payroll Reports
