It's important to be on top of your employee's contribution, @Bamax2. I've got some tips to ensure that Social Security and Medicare are properly deducted.
First, make sure that the correct payroll service key is input. This enables you to use payroll services. Find out more about the service key by visiting this module: Get started with QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.
After that, we'll have to upload the latest tax table in QBDT Payroll to stay compliant with paycheck calculations. Lastly, let's revert your employee's paycheck so we can get updated information about the deductions. Here's how to revert:
- Open the Employees menu, then go to Pay Employees
- Choose Scheduled Payroll or Unscheduled Payroll.
- Click on Resume Scheduled Payroll. Your employee's name is highlighted with yellow because of the changes made.
- Right-click on the employee name that’s highlighted in yellow.
- Hit Revert Paychecks.

Once everything is back to normal, feel free to also check out these guides to keep track of and manage payroll transactions.
