Storing employee data in Online Payroll Premium

We recently switched from QB Desktop to QB Online and the two systems are worlds apart. We had a system that stored all sorts of data for employees, and now the new system barely keeps the necessities. Am I missing something? All that I can enter is pay amount, deductions, W-4 information, hire date and date of birth. Nowhere to store prior wage information, employee notes, supervisor information or anything. I can't even find a place to mark if they're part time or full time.

If this is all we get with online payroll, is anyone supplementing with integrated apps? This is horrible. I don't even want to talk about the reports.

Storing employee data in Online Payroll Premium

Thank you for choosing QuickBooks as you accounting tools, @SIGMA03

QuickBooks Online Payroll has its own built-in templates. It doesn't include supervisor information or marks them as full time or part-time.

However, the ability to enter historical payroll information is only available for the current calendar year, and there are no paychecks created for the employee(s) yet.

Here's how:

  1. In QuickBooks Online (QBO), go to the Payroll menu at the left pane to get to the Employees page.
  2. Select the employee to open the information, then Enter prior pay details
  3. Enter the necessary information.

You can refer to this link for a third-party app that QuickBooks offers.
