Tax withholdings Uh oh. This isn't going as expected. We'll get to the bottom of things. Try again later.

I'm getting the above error message on my Employees page.  what does this mean?  when will I be able to run payroll again?

I acknowledge the importance of running Tax Withholding in Employee in QuickBooks. Let me figure this out for you @susan6703

 

We are currently experiencing an issue with employee tax withholding. An error message appears, stating: "Uh oh. This isn't going as expected. We'll get to the bottom of things. Try again later." Our Product Engineering team is aware of this and is working on a fix. Thank you for your patience. 

   

In the meantime, I suggest reaching out to our Customer Support Team. This way, you will be added to the list of affected users and receive an email notification once we resolve the issue. 

   

You can contact our Customer Support for QBO by clicking on the Help icon located at the top right of your account and ask them to add you to INV-107626. 

 

Follow the steps below:  

  

  1. Go to the Help icon to connect to a live support agent.  
  2. Provide us with some information about your concern. 
  3. Select the Contact Us button and provide some details about this concern, then on the Let's talk button.  
  4. You'll now be provided with options on how to connect to our Customer Support.

According to your customer support people, which are a nightmare to get assistance from, it is my understanding this has been a known issue since the third or fourth week of June.  Running payroll manually is unacceptable. An actual update, correspondence and updates from the support team would be appreciated.  Spending 3 hours to report the issue a week ago and then 1.5 hours calling in today to try to get an update is not good customer service.  The answer I received was they would have an update on Friday.  That doesn’t provide any confidence that the issue would be repaired in time to run payroll this week. Determining and writing manual paychecks with no direct deposit capability is not good business.  The support team actually told me to set up Venmo and pay the employees that way!  I asked for a supervisor to return my call after 1.5 hours on the phone with customer service this morning. 12 hours later, still no call.
