Time imports

Does anyone have a work around for importing time into Quickbooks using Transaction Pro. The decimal portions of time are off by .01 hours after importing on about 10 % of the employee times. I was on the phone with QB support to no avail. Was told they do not support Transaction Pro. I have seen other posts about the same problem under timesheet import mismatch. I have tried importing from an excel sheet and have the same problem. Any ideas would be helpful.

Time imports

Thank you for bringing this QuickBooks Desktop time import issue to our attention, awc1493. I understand how frustrating it can be to deal with data discrepancies, especially when they impact critical employee time records. I appreciate your proactive approach to exploring various solutions, such as Excel imports and contacting QuickBooks support. I'm here to share insight and help you find an effective workaround to ensure accurate time data imports.

The discrepancy occurs due to the way QuickBooks handles and displays time entries. When you set the option to display time in decimal format, QuickBooks shows time in hundredths of an hour. However, there are only 60 minutes in an hour, which doesn't divide evenly into 100 parts.

As a result, some time entries are rounded to the nearest minute when saved and then displayed as the closest decimal equivalent to that saved value. This can sometimes lead to a .01-hour difference between what you import and what QuickBooks displays.

As a workaround, I recommend manually adjusting your time entries once imported into QBDT. While this may require extra effort, it will ensure the most accurate representation of employee work hours.

Additionally, I've included relevant articles that may assist you in managing employee time and payroll in QBDT. These resources guide you in generating comprehensive time reports and correctly setting up overtime pay, which is crucial for accurate time tracking and payroll management.

We hope it clarifies the issue you've been experiencing and provides a practical solution. We're committed to ensuring you get the most out of your QuickBooks Desktop software. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance implementing the workaround, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help you in maintaining accurate financial records.

Time imports

Thank you for your reply. I already spend 30 to 45 minutes extra each payroll editing the incorrect imports. Is there a way to change from hundredths to tenths of an hour in the database or even offer a switch so the user can decide which format to use this would correct the import values? In some instances, the correct times are in QB but the daily total is not correct. In this instance I need to delete the entry, tab off from the cell, and then tab back to the cell and enter the same decimal of time so that it updates the total. There needs to be a better way. Thanks
