@Carl Fedewa  I don't know about doing it through the Payroll Setup, but the After-The-Fact Payroll function under the Employee menu always seemed to work well enough.

I tried to enter it as a paycheck but some of the amounts calculated differently so i have to see if i can work around those.  Some i could change (withholdings) but not the various wage items and social security ( those are only off pennies but still off).

Hey, Carl. I'm here to help you enter your prior payroll.

Let's enter your prior payroll by following the steps below:

  1. Go to the Help menu
  2. Choose About QuickBooks.
  3. Press Ctrl + Alt + Y or Ctrl + Shift + Y to open the Setup YTD Amounts window.

For more details on the process above, you can check out this article: Add payroll info to QuickBooks Desktop Payroll when you already paid employees this year.

You can also use this article for future reference if you encounter an error while updating payroll: Resolve error when updating QuickBooks Desktop or Payroll.
