Thank you, I've taken these steps already but it has not resolved the issue. There are still several payroll payments posted to the wrong register and until I can move them I am unable to reconcile either bank account.
I need to know how to move/change the Core Payroll transactions in the wrong account register to the correct register.
Hi there, denisekrussell.
You can transfer the Core Payroll transactions to the correct account register by using the transfer button. Let me show you the steps.
Here's how:
For future reference, you can check this article: How to manually reconcile your bank register against processed payments.
Let me know if you have questions in mind by replying in this comment thread. I'm always ready to back you up. Have a good day!
Hello there, denisekrussell. I'm here to continue to help you out.
The Hamburger icon is located at the top corner of your book. Once you clicked it, you'll be able to see the Banking as one of the options available on the left side. I've added a screenshot for additional reference:
Moving forward to your main concern, I can see that you've tried following the recommendation by IamjuViel above. I would like to add a bit of information about her steps.
Let's go back to the Accounting Preferences one more time and modify the account where you want to deposit your payroll. There will be a message that asks you to enter dates. All we have to do is select the dates that the payroll tax payments were deposited to the wrong register.
Afterwards, the payroll tax payments will be deposited to the right bank register. Also, you can pull up the Payroll Tax Payment report to review the payments for the period you entered. Go to Reports on the left side and enter Payroll Tax Payment in the search box.
Let me know if you have follow-up questions. I am right here together with my colleagues to back you up anytime. I hope you're doing good. Take care!
Thank you. I now know what a hamburger icon is and I see the Banking option.
Under Payroll Settings, Accounting, I've reselected the account to which I want my payroll and tax payments to post; there is no message or option to enter dates. I am not seeing the same screen you've included a shot of.
Still stuck and hoping for help.
Yes, everything you did is correct, denisekrussell.
After changing the affected account, I'd recommend scrolling-down to the bottom of the page. From there you'l be able to click OK and enter the Starting Date of the Update (just like the screenshot provided by SarahannC).
If the same thing happens, I'd recommend reaching out to our Payroll Support Team. They can review your account and further investigate this matter.
Keep us posted of the results so we can see what we can do. Additional details about this would be much appreciated.
Thank you to everyone who has replied but this is getting me nowhere.
I still cannot change the affected transactions.
The screenshot provided is not the screen I'm seeing and there are no dates to change, there is no bottom of the screen to scroll down to. The Accounting Preferences screen says:
"Which Quickbooks checking account do you use to pay your employees' paychecks and payroll tax payments? Bank Account _____________________ (drop down to select account)"
At the bottom of the screen there is a BACK and a Continue button. That's it.
I will try contacting the Support Team via chat tomorrow.
