W4 form and Withholdings

I am the employee and had to fill out the new w4. The first time I followed directions and only had .14 taken out in federal... redid it where I had extra withholdings taken out of $190... now with what going on in the world I’m working maybe 8 hours a week but still having the extra withholdings taken at that amount.  So makes no sense to work. So if I don’t have any extra withholdings taken out then nothing is taken out for federal?

W4 form and Withholdings

Good evening, @Toothfairymom.

I recommend reaching out to your tax accountant to get advice about your W-4. They can provide information on what's best in your situation and give you more details about how your taxes are going to work.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate and reach out! I'll be here.

Shouldn’t the software be figuring out the amount based on income? Then we can add any additional as needed for our own tax situation? I followed the iRS website estimator and put in exact amounts for myself and husband Directly from that  and it told me to add $6 in additional holdings. When my office manager did the new changes it is only  taking out the $6 and nothing else... I need to figure this out ASAP before payroll tomorrow!

Here's how to contact them:

  1. Go to ? Help.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Enter the W4 form and withholdings as your concern.
  4. Click Let's talk.
  5. Choose either to Start a message or Get a callback.
