Join nowHello! I just ran a bonus payroll and it did not notify our employees. So it does appear to be working that way. If employees log into their workforce account, the paystub is there, but no notification is sent. Keep in mind, this was run as a BONUS ONLY payroll under the drop down on Run Payroll.
Thanks,
Jill
What I read on the latest posting on a Special Bonus Check - Depends on services -
If you use QuickBooks Online Payroll, your employees won't receive an email notification about their bonus from QuickBooks Workforce.
If you are using Desktop or other type, it may not act the same way.
Right! I will make sure to approach EVERY employee and tell them to turn off their notifications, explain how to do so, and when they ask why the reason is I do not want them to see their Year End Bonus yet.
This being QBs solution is only passed on the ridiculous scale by the proposition detailed above. It is far too sensible for Intuit to actually enable an employer to choose the day paystubs or compensation could be seen by employees online. Here's an idea Intuit and Workforce, how about you make this option available?!?!
Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, QkBksJunkie. I understand that things have been challenging for you regarding receiving notifications for your employee. Also, I can see how important it is to have the option to enable an employer to choose the day paystubs or compensation could be seen by employees online. With this, I'll ensure you can send feedback so the option you want to perform will make it possible.
Please know that if your employees have a QuickBooks Workforce account, they'll receive an email every time you run payroll for them. Unless your employee turns off the email notification on their own.
For now, I suggest going to the Gear icon in QuickBooks Online and choosing Feedback. This way, you can submit a request about having the option to allow an employer to select the day paystubs or compensation could be seen by employees online. Any recommendations are sent to our engineers for consideration in future updates.
Lastly, you may refer to this article to see various information on how you can set up additional pay items in QuickBooks Online Payroll and how to handle pay types you don’t use anymore: Add or change pay types.
I'll be right here to continue helping if you need additional assistance in managing your employees. Have a great rest of the day, QkBksJunkie.
When we ran our bonus checks this year, my first step was coming here to find a way to prevent Intuit from notifying our employees we processed the paper checks. The solutions on turning off email notifications wasn't going to work, so we chanced processing and discovered the simplest solution to this was to bypass the "send to Intuit" selection when the pop-up box came up after we ran the checks. By not sending to the information to Intuit, no one received any notice of the paper checks and they didn't discover the dollar amounts until we handed them out them to our employees on the day of our event.
Discovered when we run our paper checks, when the pop-up window opens for sending to Intuit, we bypassed this step and did not send the information. This prevented Intuit from notifying our staff we processed these checks and they did not discover the amounts of their bonuses until they opened the envelopes the following week at our holiday event. This was the easiest and best solution for our company.
