When I try to select "Pay & File" or "Mark as Paid" for past payroll taxes, I get an error saying "No taxes due this period"? How do I remove these?

Three of these payroll taxes were paid, though the amount calculated is below the actual amount I paid to the state agency. One of these payroll taxes is an over calculation of the tax that was paid.

My main goal is to ensure the error message you encountered gets resolved, Twylag.

When you experience any error when paying, filing, or marking payroll taxes as paid, this needs to be further investigated to determine the main cause of the issue.

Since we need to view your Payroll tax page, I recommend contacting our phone or chat support team. They have tools to securely access your account and provide solutions to fix the problem and ensure your taxes are recorded accurately. I've included the steps to contact support below.

  1. Go to the Help (?) icon at the top.
  2. On the Assistant tab, click Talk to a Human.
  3. Enter your concern in the Type Something field, then click the Send icon.
  4. Click on I still need a human.
  5. Select Get help from a human.
  6. You can either select Chat with us or Have us call you.

Additionally, I've added an article to help you learn how QuickBooks Online Payroll handles and calculates your taxes: Understand how your payroll taxes are calculated.

I appreciate your patience as we work through this. If you have any other concerns or questions about managing your taxes or payroll transactions, please don't hesitate to add a comment below. I'll be glad to help you out.
