Written Bonus/ Commission Check

Hello all,

I would like to first thank the community for being so helpful!

I have a client who has manually written bonus checks throughout 2022. Because she did this, these checks will not appear on the payroll reports or W2 if left as is. I would like to include this bonus checks on their W2 once 2022 ends. How can I fix this?

Could I recreate the unscheduled payroll checks? and then match it with the manually written check?

I am looking forward to hearing back :)

Thanks!

Written Bonus/ Commission Check

Hi there, @dvga12. Good day!

I'm here to help share insights about the written bonus checks for employees' payroll in QuickBooks Online.

Recording a bonus payroll check is affected by the calculation of its taxes based on how you enter them into your payroll account. Saying, they've been written manually, taxes will now be manually calculated since they can no longer be paid along with your employee's regular pay.

And yes, creating an unscheduled payroll check is the best course of action to follow. Kindly read and use this article to learn more about creating a bonus check for an employee: How to Pay an Employee Bonus using QuickBooks Payroll?

After recording the bonus check, let's try to log in using any of our supported browser versions for the best experience and use this reference for guidance: Help Articles in QuickBooks Online Payroll. Also, you can read subtopics that will describe how a feature is used and how to accomplish tasks related to its functions.
