I know QB only support 2 decimal places but I am writing this to bring to their attention that the issue is serious and causing differences in accounts. Myself and others need 3 decimal places or points. I have written in the feedback few months ago regarding the issue as I am sure others did as well as asking for it here in the community. I do not think it is a big job to increase one decimal place.
Is 3 decimal places going to implemented and if yes, when do we expect it?
Awaiting your feedback.
I can see the importance of adding the 3 decimal places to the transactions associated with your account in the program, @Sahm11.
We're unable to determine when this feature will be implemented in QuickBooks Online (QBO). However, I have an alternative method you can perform to make sure your accounts are accurate. Let's import the Account QuickReport to Excel. Then, format the Amount and Balance cells to 3 decimal places from there. I'll guide you how.
The screenshot below shows you the seventh to ninth steps.
Also, I recommend visiting this website: QBO Blog. This is the place where we share our latest news and product innovations.
Furthermore, you can check out this link: QuickBooks Basics. It provides you helpful topics about managing your income, expenses, inventory, banking, and your QBO account.
You can count me in if there's anything else you need. Take care always, @Sahm11.
Thanks for the reply Raymond
However, I am sorry but the solution is not practical or straight forward to do.
I went for Quickbook to forget about Excel and to use it again is like going back to square one.
I still fail to know why is it difficult to add an extra decimal place.
I think this should be taking to the development team and decision making management.
Best Regards
Sahm
Hi there,
I was having the same issue, to have this 3 decimal places and was trying to figure it out, but to no avail. Thing makes different for every cents that will be round off automatically.
Please if you could just review the system to add this feature would be really great.
Thank you,
Hassan
I COMPLETELY AGREE. THIS FEATURE NEEDS TO BE ADDED. QUICKBOOKS IS MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR US TO GET TO THE CORRECT CALCULATION FOR SOME HOURLY PAYS AND MORE IMPORTANTLY PIECE PAY RATES ARE NOT CORRECT DUE TO THE CAT THAT YOU CANNOT GO OUT MORE THAN 2 DECIMAL POINTS.
Good Day,
We need the 3rd decimal as our currency (BHD) is 3 decimal, simply. I can't issue correct VAT invoice with only 2 decimal, it will be rejected by LAW. So, simply add an extra decimal to enable us to use you application. Otherwise it will be useless for us no matter what is the features.
Thanks for joining in on this thread, Daled11.
Currently, QuickBooks has two decimal places set by default and changing it is unavailable. While we’re unable to give a specific time frame when this feature will be added, you’ll want to follow the workaround provided by my colleague RaymondJayO.
To help improve your QuickBooks Online experience, I recommend sending a feature request by going to the Gear > Feedback. The information will be forwarded to our Product Development Team for review.
You can also visit our QuickBooks Blog for the latest news and feature releases.
You’re always welcome to add a reply here if you have any follow-up questions or other concerns. Have a good day!
Sahm11 is correct. Please update QB to allow for this option.
I need this feature for inventory tracking. For example, not every patient gets 1 mL of a particular drug. Some patients get 0.1 or 0.25 mL. We want to be able to accurately account for our inventory and reorder points, especially for our injectable medications.
I also agree that QB needs to be updated to 3 decimal places. I work with ADP and they track overtime 1.5 to 3 decimal places. When I try to enter the overtime into payroll it skews to total overtime amount. This is unacceptable as you know the importance to reconcile. Thank you.
