Welcome to the Community, @Dani11.

Let me help ensure your boss's QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) will run and get the recent info.

There are some reasons why QuickBooks stop working. It's either your Windows operating system or QuickBooks Desktop installation was damaged.

To get this fixed, let's run Quick Fix my Program from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Here's how:

  1. Close the QuickBooks software.
  2. Download the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  3. Once done, open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe). Then, install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  4. Open the QuickBooks Tool Hub, then select Program Problems.
  5. Select Quick Fix my Program.
  6. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

If the issue persists, you can check out this article for more troubleshooting steps: Solutions for when QuickBooks has stopped working.

I'm adding this article to learn more about how to back up your accounting data in QuickBooks Desktop: Back up your QuickBooks company file.

Keep in touch if you need any more assistance with this, or there's something else I can do for you. I've got your back. Have a good day.
