Can enterprise run on share point?

Welcome to the Community, Cdroese.

Let me share information about running SharePoint in your QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise account.

Yes, to use SharePoint to run QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is possible. However, a server has to be used to run databases, then use the QuickBooks database management software.

Using SharePoint in conjunction with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise can provide various benefits, such as improved collaboration among team members, increased accessibility to data, and enhanced data security. Knowing the importance of the technical requirements in setting up the necessary infrastructure is needed.

You can utilize this article on setting up a server in your QuickBooks Desktop: Install QuickBooks Desktop on a server. In doing this, adjustments in your QuickBooks Desktop, Windows, and your server may occur.

After installing, visit this article to gain an understanding of accessing your QuickBooks Desktop and its data remotely from a host or server computer: Open company file on a remote computer

Additionally, scan this article about hosting your QuickBooks Desktop remotely using an internet browser or remote desktop connection from home or anywhere: How to host a QuickBooks Desktop company file

Let me know if you have further inquiries about running your QuickBooks Desktop on SharePoint or any QuickBooks Desktop-related questions. I'll be here to address them as soon as possible. Have a great day ahead!

Can enterprise run on share point?

Hi Irene,

Just reading your message and you are describing a situation we would like to investigate.

Currently, we are using session-based Windows virtual machines to publish QBD to users. But having VM's just duplicates environments with our Desktops. Further, Excel and Adobe need to be installed in the VM to be able to export reports from the VM QBD instance.

We would like to just leverage local installation of QuickBooks, but VPN's make accessing virtually hosted company files prohibitively slow. Is there a way to:

1. spin up an Azure server to run QB Dtabase

2. store QB company files on SharePoint

3. access these files in multi-user from local computers?

All of our computers are managed through Intune. We are looking at Azure Private Link to coordinate all the devices as a replacement to a VPN. Have you seen this configuration? Could you share your experience?

Thanks!

Can enterprise run on share point?

Welcome back to the QuickBooks Community, andrew33.

Yes, there's a way to spin up an Azure server to run QuickBooks Database. The desktop version of QuickBooks had to be installed on local machines which necessarily had to be used to access the software. With QuickBooks on Azure, the application is installed on a machine with Azure and can now be accessed from any device with an internet connection. All versions, including Premier, Pro, Enterprise, POS, and Accountant can be installed on remote desktops with full functionality.

On the other hand, the use of SharePoint is to secure a place to store, organize, share, and access information from any device. However, please know that there are hosting providers authorized by Intuit that allow you to run your QuickBooks Desktop and store your data files on a service provider's servers. You can refer to this article to see further details: Hosting providers authorized by Intuit.

Then, I recommend contacting the Hosting Service Provider you've chosen. They can help you with hosting setup and installation, troubleshooting hosting issues, and other basic technical support needs like setting up to access files in multi-user from local computers.
