The Windows version of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) is not compatible with Mac laptops, @Kath2018.
Please know that as of September 20, 2024, QBDT for Mac is no longer available for new users. Currently, QuickBooks offers only QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise for Windows. Since you mentioned wanting to access your files from outside your home, you might find QuickBooks Online a good option, as it is also compatible with any operating system.
To keep your business documents safe in QBDT, ensure to back up your files. This way, you can restore your accounting data whenever you need to.
