Can someone please tell me how to fix my account connections? Financial institutions have sent emails that they're sharing with Intuit. But I still get error message.

It's happening with multiple different financial institutions - PNC Bank, Discover, Capital One, Acorns.

Can someone please tell me how to fix my account connections? Financial institutions have sent emails that they're sharing with Intuit. But I still get error message.

Ensuring you can reconnect your bank account feeds in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) is my priority, stacia.

What is the exact error message you are getting when trying to link your bank in QuickBooks? This way, we can review if there's an ongoing investigation or provide you with the right solution.

Here are the following scenarios of why you're unable to connect your bank account:

  • The bank may not be a participating bank.
  • Your bank might not connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs. business accounts).
  • The bank is having a system maintenance.
  • Some banks have multiple names on our list. You might want to check and select the correct one or try all possible bank URLs.

What you can do is reach out to your bank and check for any maintenance updates or requests to establish a connection with QuickBooks. If everything is good from your bank's side, select the correct bank name when connecting the account.

In the meantime, you can manually import your bank transactions into QBSE. Here's how you can manually upload your transactions using a CSV file:

  1. Open QuickBooks Self-Employed in a web browser.
  2. Go to Settings ⚙, then select Imports.
  3. Select Import older transactions for the account that wants to add transactions.
  4. Select Browse and find the file you downloaded from your bank. It's usually in your Downloads folder.
  5. Select the file and select Open to start the import.
  6. Review the column headers and data. Make sure the Date, Description, and Amount columns on the CSV match the columns and order in QuickBooks. The other column headers can be in any order.
  7. Select Continue to complete the import.

Once your bank account is connected, you can categorize the transactions to ensure your financial records are correct. For more guidance, check out this article for future reference: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
