how do I make a partial refund
Level 2

Can you import a chart of accounts with sub-account structure to QBO? The sample spreadsheet only shows columns for Account Number, Account Name, Type and Detail Type.

Do you have the format needed to import the Income Account and Expense Account fields when importing the Products and Services list? I have over 200 and it is rejecting both fields. I have tried to match what appears in the drop down exactly but no luck.

  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

Then, you can follow these steps on how to import your list:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Import data.
  2. Select Products and Services.
  3. Click Browse and select the Excel file to open.
  4. Then, Next. Ensure that you map the QuickBooks Online field to your Excel field.
  5. Click Expense Account under Expense Account and Income Account for Income Account fields. Click Next.
  6. Look into the accounts if it's still highlighted with red. Ensure that it's not a subaccount.
  7. Click Import.

If you're able to successfully import your list, you can switch back to the main browser and clear the cache. You'll also want to alternatively import your list through a different supported browser.
