QuickBooks Online Simple Start doesn't support multicurrency. If this is enabled, you can't switch to QuickBooks Simple Start. However, if it's disabled, you can downgrade your subscription.
When downgrading, certain features will be unavailable, and you won't be able to access your old plan. I suggest keeping a record of all your information and running a report of your products and services so you can keep track of your quantities on hand.
