Convert from Sage 50 to Quickbooks Desktop to Quickbooks Online

I am trying to convert my Sage 50 file to Quickbooks Online. First I know I need to convert Sage 50 to Quickbooks Desktop. I downloaded Quickbooks Desktop Pro trial version successfully on the same computer Sage 50 is on. The operating system for my computer is Windows 10 and 64 bit. The next step after changing the permissions password in Sage is to download the conversion tool (32 bit for some reason) and then it finds the file and converts it for you. This worked for me on a different Windows 10 computer for a different company but this time, for some unknown reason, it isn't working.

 

I contacted desktop support and the guy stayed on the phone with me for an hour and a half and we got nowhere, tried changing permissions, running the program in different compatibility modes, and running a diagnostic tool. Also, I deleted 2015 Microsoft visual basic and reinstalled it with no luck. 

The error code, found in the conversion tool files, is : 80040154

 

Which tells me there is some problem with the 32 bit conversion tool trying to operate on a 64 bit system. I even tried moving the file into the Program Files (x86) and running the conversion tool then with no luck. 

I'm wondering if I have to run some program that will make my system act like 32 bit in order for the conversion tool to work? I can't find any solutions for this on quickbooks help and am now on the phone once again with them (on hold for 30 mins so far). This is the 3rd straight day I've been trying to get this to work. I'd appreciate any help.

I did not get it sorted out, nor did I get the conversion tool to work, even after having someone from IT try a work-around with Windows 10 32 bit version. Your customer service is terrible, waiting on the phone for that long every time I tried to call (by the way, I was directed to the conversion people after waiting on the phone for 45 mins, waited for 10 more minutes just to be told the call volume is too high - so I hung up). What a colossal waste of my time. 

 

If anyone is reading this and wondering whether to get quickbooks online - DON'T DO IT. Stay far away and try something else. I should have read more of those 1 star reviews that I just found yesterday.
