Hi there, craigrhodes1-mac. Thank you for reaching out to the Community.
To ensure I can provide you with an appropriate solution, may I know if you happen to encounter specific error messages while setting up your QuickBooks Self-Employed? Any additional information will be much appreciated.
I'll keep an eye out for your response, and should you have further QuickBooks Self-Employed-related concerns, please don't hesitate to include them. We're glad to assist you anytime.
No, it's been working fine. I tried to send an invoice through the desktop app today. When I hit the email button, it says loading preview where the invoice is suppose to be. There is no text in the body of the email. There is nothing in the subject and I can't check the box to email me a copy.
Thank you for the additional information, craigrhodes1-mac. I understand how challenging it must be to experience issues while sending invoices. Allow me to go into details about this and route you to the appropriate support.
Upon checking, there's an ongoing investigation (INV-99715) about the unavailability to proceed from the preview screen when trying to send an invoice in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). With this, please know that our engineers are already aware of this issue and are working to fix this as soon as possible.
In the meantime, you can export the invoice as a PDF to preview it.
If you haven't, I'd recommend contacting our support team to have your name listed on the affected users and receive timely email updates.

Moving forward, we recommend reading this helpful article on how to categorize the transactions you download from your bank or enter into QuickBooks: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

This issue is happening to me as well. Send Invoice via Email hangs on the preview screen.
This is also happening to me. Please get this resolved
I discovered a workaround. If you manually type in the subject and body of the email it does allow you to send the invoice. I'm guessing something with the software of loading the template email is causing the issue.
This has been happening to me since yesterday morning as well. I am literally unable to send invoices. How has this not been fixed already?
Is there an update?
(TLDR You had one job)
I was just able to send an invoice because of your work around.
Of course it does make me wonder how Intuit has not come up with the work around or fix yet even though I literally pay them for a service not being provided - hmm.
In any event - thanks!
Does anyone have a good alternative to Self Employed QuickBooks? This is happening to me as well and I was just told an engineer would get back with me in 6 days.... aint gonna work.
Hi, @jakens79.

Although well intended, this response is not helpful. How is allowing us to buy another product from you instead of the one we are paying for, having our back? Wouldn't fixing it be having our back? Paying more for an alternative to a product by the same company that doesn't support its customers doesn't seem helpful. What am I missing?
If I ran my business like that I wouldn't be in business. When will this obvious issue that is affecting your customers who have paid for a service be fixed?
Hi there, @allow_editing_of_products.
Let me share the info about the invoice preview message. Then, direct you to the best possible help.
Currently, the investigation (INV-99715) about being stuck in the preview screen when sending an invoice is still in progress. With that in mind, we recommend contacting the QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) Care Team to add you as one of the affected users. Once the update is ready, you'll be notified through email. Here's how
