Buy nowWe used Laplink to move our files from a Win10 machine to a Win11 machine. It seems that everything except the PDF printer is working. The file QBPRINT.QBP is missing and multiple repairs and Tool Hub Print & PDF Repais later, the problem still exists.
I am tempted to completely remove the software from the Win11 machine and reinstall. Any constructive advice?
Hi there, dbeane.
I appreciate your efforts in troubleshooting this issue to ensure all QuickBooks components are complete and functioning on your new computer. Let me to provide additional steps to help resolve this.
Firstly, QuickBooks doesn't back up certain files, like QBPRINT.QBP, which is causing the printer issue on your new computer. To resolve this, you can manually copy the QBPRINT.QBP file from your Windows 10 machine and move it to the appropriate directory on your Windows 11 computer.
Here’s how:
For reference, please visit this article: Move custom templates and forms that aren't part of the backup.
Additionally, I recommend renaming your old QBPRINT.QBP file. This helps QuickBooks generate a fresh version while preserving your custom settings, ensuring functionality is fully restored.
You can consult an IT professional to assist with transferring all files and settings during the migration, ensuring everything is correctly configured.
If you have additional concerns or questions, feel free to post in this forum or reach out directly.
What error message did you encounter? Can you share the screenshot?
I can't paste an image here, I've tried and I failed.
The Missing PDF Component message says:
QuickBooks detected that a component required to create PDF files is missing.
This may cause issues with printing transactions, emailing forms, or saving
anything as a PDF file inside of QuickBooks Desktop.

I have been looking at the folders from a thread I was reading and I see the folders for the user are all read only. Coiuld this be causing an issue?
Hi there, @dbeane. Thank you for keeping us informed.
To resolve the image paste error, please download and use the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Ensure that QuickBooks is closed before using the tool. For best results, use the Tool Hub on a 64-bit version of Windows 10.
If you don’t see the icon, search for QuickBooks Tool Hub in Windows and launch the program.
For further assistance, please refer to the article: Fix PDF and Print Problems with QuickBooks Desktop.
Please respond to this thread if you have further concerns regarding your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
Press the windows button and R. Type in Control Panel. Then select programs, then select programs and features. On the left side of the page select Turn windows features on or off then click on OK. Then turn on Legacy components and and Microsoft XPS Document Writer which are off by default. Then shut down your Quickbooks Program then restart your computer. When your computer restarts, reopen Quickbooks and everything should work perfectly.
Hi SAIB, thank you for your instruction. I will try it shortly.
I was playing with the settings last night and if I switch the email to Webmail, then emailing an invoice works but wants to use the QB mail. When I select the Outlook radio button then I see the issue again.
I will post an update after I try your suggestion.
