We are currently running Quickbooks Enterprise 19 on an old Windows 2012 R2 Server. I have spun up a new Windows 2019 Server and installed Quickbooks Enterprise Solutions 22 on it. I know how to export the data from the Enterprise 19 for import to Enterprise 22.
I need to know if I can export the Users and Roles from QB 19 for import to QB 22, or if I will need to recreate each user and their role?
Please let me know.
Thank you!
Apparently the Quickbooks backup also backs up the users, roles, and passwords?
I just pulled in the backup on the new server and when it opened the company, the system challenged me for User/Password. The admin account and my "joe.user" account work with the 2019 passwords and roles.
Hi there, @ejsonnen.
I'm happy that you're able to test it. Users and roles are linked to the company file. Thus, you won't need to recreate them when you migrate to a new version.
I've also added these articles to guide you on how to manage user logins:
