There are times you notice issues like missing or inaccurate trips or even the mileage tracker just stopped working. This usually happens if you're not using the QuickBooks Self-Employed app on a regular basis. Therefore this will result in the termination of the app from the background processes.
Aside from that, if you're using an outdated self-employed app.
You'll have to make sure to turn on the auto-tracking in the app to ensure everything just runs smoothly. Follow the steps I've provided below:

The tracker stopped working on any iPhone. Android's seem to work. Why is that and how do we get the iPhone to work again?
They told me you have to open the app prior to leaving to get it to track now.
They told me the fix is to open the app before you start driving It’s works for me when I remember to do it.

There was an investigation (INV-91392) about the iOS mobile app not recording all trips. Since this report has been closed, the fixes deployed will only apply if you're iOS mobile app version is 6.4.101.
