Join nowHello All,
I am at a loss for possible options. After the program states it has been installed it hangs when trying to launch on the first try. I am not converting an old qb file in the process. This is a new install.
I have tried
1. QB Clean Install
2. QB Diagnostic Tool
3. TLS Tool
3. Reinstall / Repair .NET (4.7.2)
4. Turned of all virus protection and local firewall software
5. Install from purchased CD
6. Reinstall IE11
I get the following error from Application Event Viewer after each time I try to launch the application.
Description:
An unexpected error has occured in "QuickBooks":
FSDInitMod ServiceManager.SetCurrentChannel HRESULT = -[removed]
Any ideas would be most welcomed. I think I have exhausted the google servers trying to troubleshoot this problem. ;-).

I'd like to share a little bit information about QuickBooks system requirements. Based on this article: QuickBooks Desktop System Requirements, it states there that your computer must have the Windows 7 SP1 64-bit.
SP1 stands for Service Pack 1. It's an important windows update that brings a number of stability, performance, and most importantly, security improvements to the operating system. If your computer doesn't have this update, that could be the possible reason why you can't install QuickBooks.
Let's make sure that you have it installed. Here's how:
If the Service Pack 1 is listed under Windows edition, it means you already have it. In this case, I'd suggest installing QuickBooks in other computer to isolate the issue. Otherwise, here's how to get it:
You can also search on the web for more details how to install the SP1. Once you've installed it, go ahead and try to run QuickBooks again.
I'll be right here to help if you need anything else.
I have SP1 installed. Level 2 Tech Support confirmed that my system has all the required components installed. They also performed all the necessary re-installs as well. The issue still persists with the same windows event monitor application error.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention, @ctc15.
I'm here to ensure QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2019 is installed on your computer and works. Let's get started!
Have you tried installing QuickBooks to a different device or computer? If not, I'd recommend doing so. This is for us to isolate the issue. If the application is installed on a different computer and works well, it means that the operating system of your current computer is already damage.
On the other hand, let's run the Quickbooks Component Repair Tool to Fix Microsoft .NET Framework, MSXML, and C++ issues.
Here's how:
Once completed, let's proceed with installing QuickBooks in Selective Startup. It will allow you to start Windows with only select items running on your computer.
Here's how:
If the Selective Start-up still does not work, let's do Super Clean install to completely remove QuickBooks from your computer.
Here's how:
Once installation is complete, reboot your computer to ensure that all components are updated completely. After installation, register and activate QuickBooks and you’re all set.
If the issue persists, I'd recommend reaching out to our Technical Support Team. A specialist will be able to further check on QuickBooks via secured remote access session.

juVielL,
Thank you for the detailed instructions, unfortunately the level 2 support team performed all of these actions (via remote desktop) and the application still does not launch.
Yes, I installed the software successfully on a windows 7 VM running on the PC.
Ironically, other applications install on the physical PC (ie MS Office) without issues so I'm not sure if there is a windows system corruption.
