Been having an issue with QBE18 on the RDS server.
Scenario: 4 users on QBE18 with windows 10 Pro/ Icore5/ 8gb ram purchased in 7/2019 so all new computers.
Server1
Windows 2012 R2 used to host QBmanager and QBdatabase as well as shared work files.
Server2
Windows 2016 setup as a ADS server
Server3
Windows 2016 setup as the RDS server so remote users have access to QBE
I have checked all instances for the RDS server including GP to make sure everything is good.
The problems is:
4 users working locally on their desktop and 2 users remotely logged in.
If one of the remote users walks away from their remote connection for a few minutes every one gets frozen in QBE2018. Checked to make sure nothing goes to sleep on the server from in activity, checked to make sure no disconnect due to in-activity. Also check to make sure that QBE2018 Hosting is off. Check all privileges and they are fine. Deleted profiles and created new one just in case something wasn't good with in the profile.
This only happens in QBE everything else works fine. No errors can be found in the events, although if you look at the QBLogs there are errors, but when talking to QBsupport they seem to think its normal and they also show up on the local terminals which shouldn't affect anything.
That said anyone else try running QBE18 or up on terminal service (RDS) or VM with multiple users? i am thinking of giving Proxmox/exsi/hyper-v a try, but want to get some feedback from anyone who's already tried it.
I know Intuit does not support RDS or VM/hypervisor at all, but it is the way of the future and is already. Everyone I know is using proxmox or exsi for their virtualization.
tried posting this 8 times already and it keeps telling to correct the highlighted items. what the heck is wrong with this site. 9 times and nothing looks to be highlighted yet still won't let me post. 12 time already and nothing highlighted. worst support and now this. WHAT ERRORS PLEASE SPECIFY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 15 TIMES AND STILL TELLING ME ERRORS.22 TIME TRYING TO POST 35 TIMES WHAT HELL IS THE ERROR NOTHING IS HIGHLIGHTED 34 time trying to post this message
We got you on this, customer.
You are doing the right troubleshooting steps. We would also need to check if the firewall is blocking the access to the company file, or there's a missing Windows component. Let's get this sorted out by following this mini repair on your software:
We have more troubleshooting guide outlined in this article: Solutions for when QuickBooks stops working.

Hello and thanks for the reply.
Pretty much none of those tools available do absolutely nothing to resolve the issue. i have run about 5 different tools including the one that has several of them combined when you run it. Accessing the data isn't and issue at all firewalls and everything are just fine. Quickbooks runs fine and does what it needs to. But, something is causing it to lock everyone out when the remote user leaves the terminal in idle for a few minutes. Under windows I have cleared all sleep mode or related because of inactivity. Any disconnect features under windows for RDS.
None of the above has worked the problem is persistent. I have never had an issue with Sage 50 using the same setup and processes. None of the event viewers show and significant issues when it happens nor does the qblog file. I'm kind of at a loss
I run RDS, but on that RDS server I also run the QB Server.
In my case I had issues with permissions on the company folder - check those.
Also, there is a whole article with weird permissions to be set on various folders
Go through all of these, that will hopefully resolve it for you or someone else.
