Join nowIf I don't buy the 2024 update will my 2023 still work? I know they won't take a support call if I have an issue but since I don't do payroll shouldn't my 2023 continue to work?
Thanks for sharing your concerns in QuickBooks Community, @marydore. I'm happy to assist you with any inquiries you may have regarding QuickBooks for Mac.
Even if you choose not to upgrade to the 2024 version, you can still access your QB for Mac 2023 as long as your subscription remains active.
If your subscription has expired, you'll have view-only access for one year. During this time, you won't be able to make changes to your data. However, you have the option to renew your subscription or export your data.
If you prefer to renew, you can call our support using the phone number listed under the Renew your QuickBooks Desktop subscription of this article: Renew your subscription or use view-only mode in QuickBooks Desktop.
For additional reference, you can check out this article: Manage your QuickBooks Desktop subscriptions and services.
If you have any further questions in mind, please don't hesitate to add them to this thread. I'll be there to help you out. Take care always!
Upgrading to QBD 2024 is optional. As long as you pay the renewal fee, you can use your QBD 2023. You can use the trial version to access your data if required.
Will I be able to continue to use 2023 QB Desktop Pro version with payroll in 2024 or will I have to update to 2024? Thank you!
Sheri
As long as you pay the renewal, you can use your QBD 2023 until May 2026 to integrate with QB Desktop Payroll. How many employees do you need to manage?
Ok great! I have 8 employees.
If you only have QB Desktop 2023 Pro Plus for single user + 8 employees, you should consider upgrading to QB Desktop 2024 Enterprise Gold and purchase the license through a partner. Your total cost will be lower.
Ok, I'll look into that. Thank you!
Hi there, sh2860. I acknowledge asking whether updating QB 2024 is necessary to continue using your current version.
I agree with @Fiat Lux - ASIA and @4Gal that if you keep up with the renewal payments, you continue to use your QBD 2023 with Payroll.
It's also important to note that QB 2024 is a separate version, and updating it may offer new features, improvements, and bug fixes. However, it isn't mandatory.
