Quickbooks Mac 2020 and OS X 10.15.2 Not opening reports

I had the trial version of Mac 2019 and an older version of OS. My trial expired and I tried to open my QB file and it said obviously that my trial was expired and gave me the option to purchase. But to purchase it was giving me the 2020 version. The 2020 version needed the new OS so I updated to the latest OS which is 10.15.2. Then I downloaded the QB Mac 2020 trial and updated my file. Everything looks great until I try to open any reports. No reports or quick reports will open. It's like the buttons are dead. They press but nothing happens.

I've tried uninstalling via the instructions and deleting the lib files. Resinstalling. Rebuilding files and checking them or whatever via Quickbooks utility. Running disc repair. You name it and nothing seems to work. It doesn't really even appear that it's the file but the software itself not working because when I started a new company I couldn't get a report window to open? The trial is version t19.0.1 R2

I can't even figure out how to purchase the 19 version to see if that works or what to do. Somehow I need to get this running TODAY. I'm in a crisis situation here and very frustrated. Please advise.

Kept trying re-installing and uninstalling etc but nothing would work. Finally downloaded the non-trial version which gives you 15 uses before requiring a license (which I will purchase once I know it works fully) and it works. So either there is a bug with the trial version or they need to update the trial version to the same version as the latest full mac download.

In the trial... there is no way to update the app either so don't bother trying to download then update because the option isn't there in the trial.

Intuit.... the trial version is supposed to show off how well your program works. Instead, your trial does the exact opposite. I suggest you fix it or you're losing sales and reputation based on it.

Thanks for choosing QuickBooks as your accounting software to help with your business, AlexisM.

I'll take note of your feedback about the trial version of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), and will pass it along to our Product Team.

Right now, any changes during the "test-drive" won't be saved. Thus, you're unable to update it.

You can refer to this article, Release notes for QuickBooks Desktop 2020 to learn what's new and improved in the latest updates.

For tips on how to set up the system, feel free to read through the user guide to get started.

I am having the exact same problem.  2020 desktop trial for mac will not fails to run reports of any kind.  I also tried reinstalling hoping that would resolve the problem.  It did not.

In addition, saving transactions is very slow and inefficient at best.   Very disappointing experience.

Also another issue with the 2020 desktop trial is setting up the email.  I've been using Quickbooks for at least 15 years so I know what I'm doing but it just keeps giving me error message.  So this means when the program crashes, which it has several times, the program is unable to automatically send the crash report with my notes about what I was doing when the program crashed.

Hi Chinkwop,

Issues like this can be caused by how QuickBooks interacts with your computer's system. In this case, I highly recommend contacting our QuickBooks Technical Support Team. They will be able to check the configuration settings of the trial software.

  1. Go to this link https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Mac Desktop.
  3. Choose a topic and click on Get Phone Number.

We're a post away if you have any other concerns.

Quickbooks Mac 2020 and OS X 10.15.2 Not opening reports

I've talked to tech support on this issue and they seem completely confused and not helpful at all. I've wasted an entire day on this and growing frustrated. The best advice they could offer was to purchase the program and see if it worked but they couldn't help me with the trail version. He couldn't even tell me if there was an option for a refund. Chatted with sales, they couldn't tell me if they had a refund policy.

I need to see how my sales tax liability report looks due to the way my state taxes are structured. If I can't see that, I have no need to purchase.  Having said that, the online version is having sales tax issues and they still haven't fixed that. Growing very frustrated.
