Join nowI successfully downloaded and installed QB Mac 2021, and upgraded my 3 company files (very old 2012 versions, thankfully they upgraded perfectly).
Two setup questions:
1) Every time I open every company file – it's making me login to my Intuit Account (screenshot) – surely there must be a way to turn this off? I got on chat and Intuit CS told me it's a new feature, supposedly a good thing. But it's incredibly cumbersome having to enter my email address and password... EVERY time time I open EVERY file. I'm already wishing I had gone for the 2020 version instead. I actually asked my CS if I could downgrade, she said no.
2) Is there a way to stop it doing a backup of every file every time I close it out? This is cumbersome too. If I switch between company files several times while working on the 3 files... I'm quickly ending up with a big bunch of backup files I don't want AND having to log in to my intuit account every time.
My 2012 version was actually much easier and less time-consuming to use. I tried to find a place to send feedback but there doesn't appear to be one :-(
Thanks for any help.
You got it right, @khal-badger.
Before anything else, let me congratulate you on upgrading your company files successfully.

In case anyone else needs an actual answer -- I just got got off an extremely long support chat (3 hours) with a different (and very good) Intuit chat CS who was eventually able to help me figure it all out.
The first issue (repeating login requirement) was indeed incorrect behavior as I suspected. It was being caused by a corrupted file which Intuit is fixing for me, because the first CS had caused the issue with incorrect direction during install – the same CS who was wrong in telling me the software was behaving correctly when it wasn't. She actually took up the first 2 hours of the chat. Boy that was fun.
The second issue (too many backups) is an option I can change or turn off in preferences, which I'd forgotten.
