I have tried R13 patch as well, same issue.
To anyone who is trying to help me:
No I do not want to download the lastest patch R17. I picked R14 for a reason and R14 or lower is what I wish to update my Quickbook with.
No I am not interested in doing the auto updates built into Quickbooks.
If someone can spell out the Windows services that the patching process uses, if any, I would of appreciate it.
The best case senario, if anyone knows where I can find a installer of QBPro 2018 with R14 already intergrated in, please share.
I am in IT and you can go technical on me all you like.
Thank you in advance.
To find out what the latest update you've added, open QBs and then press F2. In the top line you should see the Version (2018) and the last Release you updated. From that you should be able to tell which file(s) you need to download.
And FYI... the End-of-Life for the QB2018 support was May 31, 2021. So just make sure the update files you're downloading are indeed for QB2018.
I think I stated that it is a fresh install from a CDROM.
But I double checked, it is listed as Release R1P.
From my understanding the Offline patches are cumulative. Is it not correct? Do I need to download R1 install it and then do R2, etc etc?
Yes it is the correct one. If anyone can deceipher what the error message in event viewer means, thank you.
