Is anyone else having issues connecting a business bank account to quickbooks? Like, an error at the 'enter your phone number' step?

We bank with Northrim, and when we try to link the business account to our company's quickbooks online, it doesn't seem to recognize the phone number the bank has on file for us.

Thanks for posting in the Community, @thereptilebarn

I've checked my resources, and there are no issues about connecting Northrim to QuickBooks Online (QBO). Rest assured that I've got some steps you can perform so you can connect your business account to the program.

First, let's use your bank website's URL. This ensures you're using the correct listing of Northrim. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to Banking from the left menu.
  2. Select Add account.
  3. In the Let's get a picture of your profits page, copy the URL and then paste it in to the Enter your bank name or URL search box.
  4. Choose the bank emblem.
  5. Manually enter your User ID and Password for the financial institution website.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Complete the extra security verification steps, such as entering your phone number, and choose Connect.
  8. Click the Account type drop-down menu to your bank account.
  9. Choose Connect.

The screenshot below show you the third and fourth steps.

However, if you're still receiving an error during the Enter your phone number step, it could be your contact information is incorrectly entered on the bank's website. With this, I'd suggest going to your financial institution's website and verify your security questions and answers. You can change the phone number if necessary.

Once changed, connect your business account again. The program will automatically download your recent transactions.

After that, all you have to do is approve the way QBO categorizes the transactions. You can also match them against the existing entries in the program. For more details, check out this article: Assign, Categorize, Edit, and Add Your Downloaded Banking Transactions

I'll be right here to help if you need further assistance. Have a great day, @thereptilebarn
