Join nowHello,
I would like some information on how to transfer quickbooks from the cloud to a On-prem server please.
Thanks!
Thanks for joining us here in the Community, hachethauz.
I'm here to provide some info about transferring your QuickBooks Desktop data.
There are a few different options to transfer your data. They all start with creating a backup of your company file so you don't lose any information.
Once you have your backup file created you're ready to begin. The linked article provides all the details to move your company files to another folder on your computer, on and off your network, or to another computer.
There are also tools available to help you get this done; such as the Migrator Tool or even some third-party apps.
If you need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach back out. I'll be here to lend a hand.
Are you using QB Desktop Enterprise and run it on Right Networks cloud solution?
I will get back to you on that. Project meeting on Tuesday. Thanks for the reply.
Did you go through with moving to an onprem server? Was it successful? We are debating moving off Rightworks and would like to talk to people that have done it.
We have 9 people with a 1GB QB company file and need to figure out a server configuration that would support that.
Any advice would be helpful. TIA.
You will need at least 12GB RAM server. Consider to have 16GB RAM
then you may have other considerations:
1. Purchase a new license thru selected partners. You will get perpetual discounts on renewals up to 20%.
2. Setup a private cloud solution to let remote users access your file(s) in multiuser mode.
Thanks 4Gal.
I'm aware of the recommendations, just want some real world feedback. Want to know what kind of response times are for local v. cloud as we have been having some 15-20 second lags between KEYSTROKES on Rightworks.
On most clients, the delay is less than 2 seconds.
Some days it is OK. Other days, usually Mondays, it's extremely, extremely slow (15-20 seconds). We've been with them for 5 years and it has been getting worse. It isn't on our end.
