Trying to upgrade client account. Get error message 81832

Hello, mrsbettytracy-gm.

Are you trying to upgrade to QuickBooks Online or getting the tax bundle upgrade? Either way, I can help you resolve the error message 81832 and ensure you're able to upgrade your client's account.

The error message 81832 might be caused by a cache-related issue. In this case, you can confirm this by using an incognito or private browser:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari (new versions): Command + Shift + N

Next, log in to your client's Self-Employed account (using the private browser) and upgrade their subscription normally. When you're able to do so, clear the cache from the regular browser. Close all browser instances to use the new cache data.

You can also use another supported browser as an alternative.

If you're trying to upgrade to QuickBooks Online, you can do it manually to work around the error message. This article outlines the steps and details how: Switch from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Online

After successfully upgrading your client's account, you can start working on their data. If you need help tidying it up and navigating around the program, you can check out the guides from the General Help page (select a topic first).

Change the product by selecting one under the Topics for section.

Do you have more questions about their Self-Employed account? Please let me know. You can also include other concerns for QuickBooks Online. I'm here to help.
