Hello,
I use QB 2016 for Mac ("Build 726") on my 2011 MacBook Pro laptop.
It's time to move to a newer laptop, probably a 2019 MacBook Pro.
(I assume to use Migration Assistant in this changeover process.)
--Will my QB 2016 work OK on the newer laptop?
--Will I need to "Deauthorize this computer" before the transfer, and then 'authorize' on the new one, or will the Migration handle installing the software ready-to-use?
Thanks
-Steve
Your confusion ends here, @Q_B_compatibility_question.
Allow me to fill you in on everything you need to know about migrating QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac from an older laptop to a newer one.
The 2016 version of QBDT for Mac is no longer supported. Please know that QBDT has only a 3-years life cycle. That said, when you migrate from an older version of your laptop to a newer one, you can no longer use your QBDT 2016 for Mac. You can consider upgrading your QBDT for Mac to the latest version. This way, the system requirements will be compatible with your new 2019 MacBook Pro laptop.

Please know that I'm just a reply away if you need any further assistance managing your data in QBDT for Mac.
I am not sure QBD 2016 supports your new machine. You should install the trial license of QBD 2016 to make sure.
