Why won't my data from Desktop Pro 2011 convert and show up in my new Quickbooks pro 2017?

Thank you for posting in the Community. Allow me to share some information about converting data from QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2011 to  Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2017.

 

You may encounter this issue due to one of the following reasons: 

  • The company file name includes special characters.
  • The backup was restored over an existing company file.
  • The backup was restored from a USB flash drive to a network drive.
  • The file you are trying to restore isn't an actual backup file.
  • The company file is damaged.

To begin, let's make sure that your QuickBooks Desktop is updated. Additionally, when you download the file, you're asked where to save or map it. Please make sure to choose a file location you can easily remember.

However, if you're unable to find your file, you can also check the Restore your file article, to locate where you saved it. After that, please try again to convert your old company file to a newer version
